The good news: Consumers have better-than-average recall
when it comes to remembering green advertising. The
bad news: They aren't buying into the claims. That's
the finding of a Burst Media online survey in April
of more than 6,000 consumers ages 18 and over about
their perception of environmental marketing.

Gas Prices Disrupt U.S. Consumer Spending
Dramatic fluctuations in gas prices are disrupting U.S.
consumer spending and expected to continue, leaving
consumers with less money to spend at retail, entertainment
and dining out, according to a new study by The Nielsen
Company. Nielsens research shows that in 2007,
the gas share of consumers weekly spending ranged
from 12 to 16 percent. As gas prices continue to rise,
Nielsen expects consumers gas share of their weekly
spend to rise to 19 percent.
Legislating
from the Bench: judge upholds calories-menus law
New York City health officials won a big victory Wednesday
when a federal judge upheld a regulation requiring some
chain restaurants to post calories on menus. U.S. District
Judge Richard Holwell rebuffed a challenge from the
New York State Restaurant Association, a trade group
that argued the rule violates the First Amendment by
forcing restaurants to "convey the government's
message regarding the importance of calories."

produce them try to cope with prices of dairy produce
and most fruit and veges going through the roof.
