Wowi Continues International Expansion
Maui Wowi has expanded to the United Arab Emirates (UAE)
through the signing of a new master franchise agreement
with Dubai Enterprises LLC. The agreement extends the
Maui Wowi Hawaiian brand to an exciting new region of
the globe and further strengthens the reach of one of
the best-known smoothie, coffee and Hawaiian product
franchises.

Industry Slammed for Using Polystyrene
Jamba Juice, regaled for its healthy fruit, vegetable
and ice smoothies, and juice blends with yogurt and
soymilk, is coming under fire here and elsewhere for
its less-than healthy containers. Randy Walz of
Salem is among several who've questioned why the popular
company, started in 1990, offers a drink that's good
for you in a container that is bad for the environment.

Tea Fights Cancer
Green tea is the most common alternative medicine used
by women to try to avoid cancer. A study of almost
900 Australian women with a family history of breast
cancer found that while complementary medicine use was
very high, it was on the same level as other women,
and only 6 per cent were using it specifically to block
cancer.

Extract Shows Joint Health Potential
An extract from pomegranate may suppress the inflammation
and damage in joints linked to arthritis, if results
from an animal study can be repeated in humans.
